Our Team

Our passionate team are working hard to bring Kitchen Farm to life and create an amazing space for the community to enjoy.

Olivia Burke

Founder

Olivia Burke is our blue-eyed, blonde-haired, super happy, energetic and ‘Fabulous Farm Founder’.

When Olivia isn’t busy dreaming up big plans for Kitchen Farm, she is busy being the Marketing and Sales Director for the Burke Urban Group; the family owned and operated property development company delivering Newenham Estate, where Kitchen Farm is located.

Olivia and her families passion for creating resilient and thriving communities, and the guiding principle that “doing good is good for business”, has underpinned their vision for the Farm. They hope that Newenham will one day be one of the most resilient and ‘well’ communities in Australia (if not the world), and fundamentally believe that connecting people to healthy soil, fresh air, and the production of food and natural paddock-to-plate dining and experiences will underpin this wellness.

Whilst Olivia is an entrepreneur and rich in experience in community development, she has no background in farming or food production to speak of, so draws on the findings from national case studies, the experience and expertise of collaborators and the support and innovation from her amazing farm team.

Kym Ormond

Nursery & Market Garden Production Manager

Meet Kym Ormond, our new Nursery and Market Garden Manager or ‘The Farm Guy’ for short. He is simply put, just a dead set legend and ensures that the team is always smiling.

Kym joined our team in January 2023. For the 4 years prior, Kym ran Port Adelaide Food Gardening and developed a reputation for specialising in propagating amazing edible plants at his nursery, running informative workshops and being involved in many urban food gardening projects across Adelaide. His natural seedlings are all grown with love in Adelaide and are therefore adapted to South Australia’s climate.

He is trained in Permaculture and Horticulture and also has many years of experience in his former career as a professional chef and has combined his love of food and growing plants with his passion for permaculture and ethical farming. All of this is going to come in handy for translating Kitchen Farm produce in to a paddock-to-plate experiences at Kitchen Farm Pantry as the plants start to sprout later in the year.
